Frances ShortFrances I.
Short, age 85 of Fairborn, passed away Monday March 6, 2006 in the Miami
Valley Hospital. She was born October 4, 1920 in Paintsville, Kentucky,
the daughter of the late Ray and Lizzie (Mollett) Colvin. In addition to
her parents she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Megan Cox
in 1985, and Rebecca Jo Wheeler in 1988; a grandson, Jonathon Cox in
2000; two brothers, Gene Ray and Fred T. Colvin; and a sister, Lois Ann
Rigsby. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56
years, Ray V. Short; two sons, Roger T. “Tucker” Daniel, and wife Page
of Paintsville, Kentucky, James R. Short, and wife Deborah of Monroe,
North Carolina; four daughters, Deanna J. Falcon, and husband Dr.
Carroll of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Debra K. Wheeler, and husband Dannie of
New Carlisle, Joanna G. Cox, and husband Addie of Springfield, Beverly
J. Davis, and husband Ken of Bellbrook; 10 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy M. Colvin, and wife Patricia of
Titusville, Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended
family. Funeral services will be conducted Friday March 10, 2006 at
11:00 A.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow
Springs Road, Fairborn, Pastor R.C. McDonald officiating. The family
will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
Interment will follow in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial
contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society in
memory of Frances.My Dad's older sister passed away 3/6 also from
lung cancer. Our prayers are with her husband and my cousins at this sad
time. |
